Mind Menders

What is a “Mind Menders” Peer-Support Group?

This is a faith-based Christian non-denominational and non-sectarian group of people who are addressing emotional challenges in their daily lives. We work with the whole person: body, soul and spirit. Freedom in Christ is the goal. And Exceptional Living is our aim.

Theme Scripture:
“God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love, and a sound mind”. II Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

Group Facilitated not Led:
It not a group that comes together with a pre-planned agenda from a leader. They are facilitated in other words, the person in charge is there to see that the conversations flow and that people keep on topic but is not there to have all the answers or try to fix you.

Our groups are made up of peers (others just like us) who are facing similar or the same challenges other members are living with.

This is a free and open discussion of our concerns, conditions as well as our hopes and dreams. We may speak openly of our challenges: our successes and failures.

The group is confidential in nature (What is said here: Stays here). Each person should feel free to have open and honest communications in a loving, caring and non-condemning supporting environment.

No one is forced to participate who does not choose to. If you don’t feel like talking just say “Pass” and we will go to the next person. No embarrassment or condemnation. This should be a place where everyone can feel comfortable and at home with each other.

Mutual support and encouragement is our aim:
We draw strength from each other. You are wanted and needed to make the group a success and to gain the most out of the group; to meet your own needs and goals.

Not indoctrination:
We have all kinds of people in the group. Some know God in a real and personal way. Some are seeking for life’s answers. Some are in need of support. There will be no argumenting doctrinal or church dogmas. Those who want individual counsel or personal prayer can request it. There will be diversity in our unity. Come as you are. There are no prerequisites or qualifications for you to participate.

Everyone is welcome to attend
